What is Premium Bandai?

Premium Bandai is a shop Bandai runs itself — not a reseller and not a marketplace. Most of what it carries is made to be sold through this one channel and nowhere else.

The model differs from an ordinary shop in that almost everything is made after the orders are taken, rather than sitting in stock waiting for a buyer.

Because it is the rights holder's own storefront, the question of genuine versus fake never arises here.

What it sells

The largest category is Gunpla and other mecha kits, both new designs and limited re-runs pulled from older moulds.

After that come figures from Bandai's own lines, tokusatsu collectables, anime merchandise, and everyday items given a special finish.

What makes people chase it is that many pieces are versions no ordinary shop stocks — special colourways, bundles sold only here, anniversary editions — and once the order round closes they are not made again.

How the pre-order rounds work

Most items have an order window with a fixed closing date. When it closes, it closes; the goods are then made and shipped months later. Three to six months between ordering and receiving is normal.

The most contested items use a lottery instead of open sale: you register, then wait to learn whether you have the right to buy.

Two things to plan for: payment is taken on the shop's own schedule, and anything you miss usually reappears on the second-hand market at several times the original price.

Can you order from Premium Bandai yourself in Thailand?

You cannot. Opening it from Thailand does not even reach the Japanese shop: the site sends you to a country picker and on to that region's storefront, which carries far less.

Even with the Japanese shop in front of you, its checkout still expects a Japanese address and payment method — and the limited items people are chasing exist only on that side.

The route that works is having someone in Japan order inside the window and receive the goods once they are made.
